Sketch 30 Now : Rant, Brand, Value and an Angry Mob

Tuesday, January 18, 2022

Is ranting good for health? Nobody knows. For some people who find themselves like Mark Whitacre do in a Matt Damon movie, its "reliving" to let it all out. I say to that "Go buy a defense mechanism!". A Phrase coined by Zameel Pichen. There! Now, those 5 words in that order is original, pseudo-copyrighted and viola! branded!

What you ask a defense mechanism is? Ok. It is what causes the Angry Mobs to react the way they did on Capitol Hill last year. But it is also what saves compassionate-even-though-powerful nice guys like Norm Macdonald or Bill Burr or Dave Chappelle from falling in line with whatever the cancel culture of the day calls one into participating. They don't shit on other comics. And they don't like those who do.

"Get a pin, you unsolicited zuck". Said somebody in a leather suit. Yeah it don't make sense to me either. Some pins are worth it. Some aren't. But radicalizing everyone living harmoniously, is definitely harmony-disrupting. And without harmony, there will be no society left to be part of.

Now coming back to the point of value. How to create one? Well, a bit of human psychology education here, a bit of mental maturity there and growing a pair of defense mechanisms that are way up the maturity ladder, will tremendously help pursuing the beautiful activity of value creation without getting turned into one of the Angry Mob zombies that roam in twitter, and the rest of the places where groups are the only thing thats working for them now (Yeah you. You. Facebook and Whatsapp.)

I will leave you there. Wait one more Jif on defense mechanisms.
