A Strange Day of My Life

[The "ME" here is a metaphor of my imagination.]

Today is boring.
.
But is it really?

.

Though the nightingale still sings.
Though the mane of the lion still waves along with the beautiful breeze of the tropical.
Though the dolphin still leaps up in the air emanating triggers of joy
How the can anybody be bored?

.
.

Well, I don't know about you, but when once one adult who was a philosopher and a philanthropist told me all the above and kept looking at me expecting me to not get bored,
I could only humbly reply "what the heck has a nightingale got to do with my life?" ...

and think ...'this guy is out of his mind! Ughh! ...'

.
.

But seeing there was no look of hostility on my face, he came and sat beside me on the park bench facing the sea (sunset, orange sky).
He then continued;

"You don't have to take it in the face value.
See kid, you need to see into the metaphorical meanings of these nightingales. These Lions. and These Dolphins.
You need to know what they represent.

For example, a nightingale represents melancholy and joy, love and loss, life and death.
and did you know that a lion's mane represents intimidation, authority, and power.
Even then you need to know that a dolphin represents graciousness, gentleness and you name it!

If you know all these, you will be able to put up what I actually meant.

You see, now you must know how great it is to actually see into these things. Don't you?"

.
.

Me ;
"Well, Yeah."

.
.

"See, that's a good kid. Now you don't have to be bored at all. Right?"

.
.

Me;
"Right."

.
.

Seeing I was not at all hostile,
he asks; "So, don't you feel 'ok' now?"

.
.

Me;
"...."
(silence, still facing the beach)

.
.

He started looking triumphant.

.
.

I rose up and started walking.

.
.

The philosopher frowns and says;
"hey kid, why don't you say something?"

.
.

Me;
"See, uncle, they way I think, there are two types of people in this world.
One is those who keeps doing meaningful things. They never have time to get bored, even if they are relaxing like for example,
on a park-bench facing the sea.

And other is those who frequently find themselves doing meaningless things, even if they seem to be advising others for example,
on a park-bench facing the sea.

Well, no matter how hard I think Mister, I can't understand how on a fine day like this. And on a fine sunset like this one, and knowing the sea is still as lively as ever, you found time to think a stranger sitting at this park bench is "bored"?

And I seem to find there is only one answer,
You must have been really bored!

And for your information, I was waiting for my brother to come back from school.
Thanks for the philosophy anyway.
Hope you are relieved of your boredom".

Seeing it was time, I walked to the nearby school and got my brother home, and started doing my homework, and ate dinner, and thought about where life was heading, and then made new resolutions, and then played some games and slept, and woke up and well you know, it went on...

Still don't know how somebody can ever get bored though. Friends keep saying they are bored...
But maybe they don't enjoy doing good things?
Or maybe they don't think self-development is a necessity and awesome thing...

well i don't know....

;) :p :D
